Multifunctional architectured nanomaterials

This lecture will present the elaboration and the properties and the applications of Multifunctional architectured nanomaterials.
The different aspects of the bottom-up strategy towards architectured nanomaterials will be discussed together with the outcome in terms of multifunctionality:
  • Nanostructured powders: different methods of elaboration and some applications.
  • Functional nanostructured ceramics: compaction methods and some applications.
  • Thin films: Chemical Processing of thin films and 3D nanoobjects from a vapor phase: Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, pulsed laser deposition: technological and chemical aspects (precursors selection), applications, and optic proporties.
  • Examples in solid oxide fuel cells and Li-ion batteries applications.
Prerequisites: Background in thermodynamics, materials science.
